Where We Serve

The WSVFD is proud to provide emergency services to our primary response area that consists of nearly 17 square miles. Most of our area is located within the 25177 postal zip code. We cover Brown's Creek Road., Coal River Road, West Main Street, Rt 60 from the Putnam County Line to the Coal River, Rt 817 (Old Rt. 35) from the Putnam County Line to Rt. 60, a large portion of Dry Ridge, and all of the communities serviced by these roads.

In addition to our primary response area, we proudly respond with Lakewood VFD, West Side VFD #2, Institute VFD, & Jefferson VFD on an automatic mutual aid call out. We are routinely requested by St. Albans Fire Department, Nitro Fire Department, Teays Valley VFD, Hurricane VFD, Tyler Mountain VFD and many other fire departments within our county.

We have affectionately been labeled as "World-Wide West Side" because of our willingness to assist any fire department that requests our assistance- a nickname that our members wear with pride!
